Antifungal Agents

چکیده
Continued advancement of medical science offers life-saving treatment options for a variety of hematologic, oncologic, and rheumatologic conditions. Immunosuppression, a common therapeutic side-effect, predisposes patients to invasive fungal infections, which are escalating in prevalence. The development of effective, welltolerated antifungals has lagged behind the advances of antibacterial therapy. Amphotericin B deoxycholate, an antifungal developed in the 1950s, marked a major therapeutic advance (Box 1). Although very effective for the treatment of numerous

Antifungal agents: Polyene, azole, antimetabolite, other and future agents
Antifungals have always been considered as one of the astonishing discoveries of the 20th century. This is correct, but the real marvel is the development of antifungal resistance in hospitals, communities, and the environment concomitant with their use. Fungal infections have emerged as an important clinical threat, with significant associated morbidity and mortality. This study is desig...
متن کاملEffects of Carbon Sources on Growth and Production of Antifungal Agents by Gymnopilus Spectabilis
Effects of different carbon sources on growth and production of antifungal agent(s) by Gymnopilus spectabilis were investigated. Different carbon sources including; Glucose, fructose, lactose, maltose, manitol and sucrose at the concentration of 10 g/l and slow releasing carbon sources including malt extract and soluble starch at the concentration of 2g/l were used. Inhibition of spore germinat...

متن کاملAntifungal drug resistance of yeasts in dermatology: mechanisms, epidemiology and clinical impact
Superficial dermatophytoses are among the most common infectious disease. The most commonly used antifungal categories reazoles, polyenes and echinocandins. Due to the limited number of available antifungal drugs, toxicity and the emergence of resistant (intrinsic or acquired) strains, antifungal strategy needs to be developed. Recently the researchers try to find alternative antifungal agents....

Background : The incidence of invasive fungal infections has been increasing for two decades. Amatter of concern in the treatment of fungal infections is the limited number of efficacious antifungal drugs. Many available drugs lead to the development of resistance, In order to seek new antifungal agents we assessed the antifungal activity of newly synthesized Imidazol compounds by a coloromet...
متن کاملSynthesis and Biological Evaluation of Novel Quinoline Derivatives as Antibacterial and Antifungal Agents
Vilsmeier Several diamide derivatives containing 2-chloroquinoline scaffolds were synthesized via Ugi reaction of 2-chloroquinoline-3-carboxaldehydes, amines, carboxylic acids and isocyanides. The diversity of these quinolinyl Ugi-adducts was increased by using 2-chloroquinoline-3-carboxylic acids as a source of acid. Among them, compounds 2d, 2n, 2p, 4a, 4c and<strong...
